Ofsted inspection letter to parents 05/07/18
The inspection followed a significant period of challenge at St Andrew’s including over a year without a permanent head teacher.
Our improvement plan aligns with the report, identifying a number of areas where we need to improve: greater consistency in teaching and learning across all subject areas, sharpening of the challenge of high attaining young men and consistently high expectations of our students.
The inspectors acknowledge the high standards of pastoral care and safeguarding, and recognised our commitment to providing a broad and balanced education to our students as well as ‘highly effective careers education’ that allows our young men to make sensible and well informed choices. Both student and parent voice was largely very positive and some constructive feedback received.
I very much look forward to working with the staff and governors in driving St Andrew’s forward so that we can ensure the success of our young men.
